A Gaze at my Mirror
Theme: Mirrors
When I gaze at my mirror, I see my reflection,
assessing each crevice with utmost attention.
A daily routine that’s become a habit:
to see what my mirror makes of my physical perception.
One day, I see my mirror’s version of me:
a majestic madame made of marbled perfection,
a work of art in my sight’s perception.
A pleasuring portrayal of personal preference,
with no second thought, I see no difference.
Another day, I see my mirror’s version of me:
manifesting monstrous mirages of me;
A sight too grotesque for me to see.
Yet my eyes refuse to stray away from this torturous scene,
does the mirror’s mirage reflect more than what is seen?
And every day, I repeat the same,
rolling the dice between joy and pain.
A look at my mirror to start the day,
hoping for a sight that makes me okay.
